Glass banned from 'Love & Hip Hop'

VH1 has had to beef up security measures on the set of "Love & Hip Hop" following the season 2 premiere.

For those who thought Monday night's brawl between Chrissy Lampkin and Kimbella was bad, consider yourself warned. It might get worse as the season wares on.

Producers for the VH1 reality show have banned all glass and metal silverware from the set after several bloody battles among the cast members. Instead, the network has leveled an all-plastic policy, according to TMZ.com.

That means that Chrissy, Kimbella, Emily Bustamante, Somaya Reece, Olivia and Yandy Smith will be dining with plastic utensils and flatware. And the same policy applies when heading out for drinks as the ladies will be toasting with plastic cups.

Emily told TMZ that the incident in the season 2 premiere clinched it for producers who are tired of all the on-set injuries—some of which have supposedly required stitches!

So far, viewers have only seen one fight this season, but there's been buzz that Chrissy may have come to blows with Yandy, who once managed Chrissy's fiancé Jim Jones.

Oh, but wait...there's more!


Reportedly, each woman is now required to be escorted by bodyguards at all times—even when cameras aren't rolling—just in case another fight pops off.

Efforts to reach out to VH1 for comment on the matter had not been returned as of press time.

Rap Icon Heavy D Dead At 44

Popular '90s rapper Heavy D died Tuesday, TMZ and Rolling Stone report. He was 44 years old.

According to TMZ, the artist, whose real name is Dwight Arrington Myers, was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. today after being taken to a Los Angeles hospital.

At around 11:25 a.m., a 911 call was reportedly made from Heavy D's Beverly Hills home, reporting an unconscious male outside.

TMZ reports that the "Now That We Found Love" rapper was conscious and talking when he was taken to the hospital.

The cause of death is under investigation, and there are reportedly no signs of foul play.

Heavy D appears in the Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy film "Tower Heist" and performed an old school set at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October

The Battle tracks from both the Challenger MISS GUTTA representing North Carolina and POWA 'HOT TRAC' CONTEST 3 CHAMPION, FLAMEZ LaCandela representing Bronx, New York was now in the hands of Colorado’s Hottest POWA DJ Ian Charlton. As the moment drew near on the Golden Era, the POWA Lounge was packed to capacity with both Artist crews, fans and listeners across the globe to see which one of these Hot Femcees would take Victory and be Crown the Powa Freestyle Battle CHAMPION. 

The Crowd went wild as the Battle began with the MISS GUTTA freestyle, done over the mainstream buzz track 'Otis' only to receive the same reaction as the FLAMEZ track melodically dropped second. The Lounge went crazy and Lit' up with 'GGGGGGGGGGGG's and 'FFFFFFFFFFFFFF's as Ian Charlton spun the two hot battle tracks back to back. It was a neck to neck Battle with both side proclaiming each Artists the best but after the dust settled and the votes tallied, N.C.'s Miss GUTTA received the most of her initials in the POWA Lounge to Win the 1st ever POWA Freestyle Battle held on www.powaradio.com. Fans of FLAMEZ immediately typed Round 2 in the chat room as the winner was announced. Will there be a Round Two and a best of three to seal the POWA Freestyle Battle Crown?!? What though is fact is that Miss GUTTA now holds the PFB Crown and right to be called the Powa Freestyle Battle Champ.
